Welcome to the Plant-Microbe Interactions Group!
The Plant-Microbe Interactions (PMI) group is a part of the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science (ABF) at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), based in Limassol, Cyprus.

Our group has extensive research experience in plant-microbe interactions and plant pathology with special reference to soil-borne pathogens. The group members have experience in the research of pathogenic or beneficial interactions between microorganisms and their plant host, by employing both model interactions and biological systems with relevance to agriculture.

The group members have more than 10 years experience in molecular aspects of plant-microbe interactions. We focus on specific components of disease resistance mechanisms in plants and the strategies plant pathogens deploy to successfully infect their hosts.

Particular attention is given in the elucidation of the complex networks and interactions that exist between the plant, the plant microbial community and the environment aiming to develop novel and effective strategies to sustainably improve plant health and agricultural productivity.

Additionally, the CUT PMI group has established a strong network within the research area including partners in academia as well as relevant industrial stakeholders.
